Winds Aloft Lab
Students explore to see if "rivers" of air exist in the atmosphere where none seem visible. Students used kites as a method to find these "rivers" and to determine if these "rivers" were stable and had boundaries.
Students found "rivers" of air in the atmosphere and soar their kites to heights in access of 500 feet!
When they thought the "rivers" were stronger at high altitude, many students kites suddenly dropped and crashed, helping the students to conclude that these "rivers were highly unstable and move about or simply disappear!
Nature, however, had the last word........
