The visible spectrum is apart of the much larger electromagnetic spectrum. The visible spectrum is the part of the electromagnetic spectrum which is visible to the human eye. The spectrum which is to the left (Red) has a much longer wave length than the right side (Violet) which has shorter wave lengths.
