Thermocline

A thermocline is a rapid change in water temperature over a short distance. For example if your 15 feet under water and the temperature is 70 degrees Fahrenheit and you go to 16 feet and the temperature of the water is 50 degrees Fahrenheit this 20 degree change over one foot in depth would be considered a thermocline.
