A Theory is something that we believe to be true but may not be true. Examples: The Big Bang Theory and The Theory of Plate Tectonics.

A Law is a concept that has been proven true every time. Many Laws were once theories or concepts which through the process of experimentation and research have been proven true.  Examples : The Law of Gravity,  Newton's Laws of Inertia and Kepler's Laws of Planetary Motions
