Stationary Fronts are created when two air (one warm and one cold) masses of equal strength collide. Neither air mass call push the other air mass away and the different mixing air temperatures and moisture can often cause long periods of precipitation to fall.
The stationary front symbol is a line with alternating series of bumps and triangles on opposite side of the line.
