Point Bank and Cut Bank

A Cut Bank is the outside bank of a river channel in a curve. The river cuts away at the channel at this point creating a wider turn because the water flows faster there. The Point bank is the inside of the turn and the water flows slower there and deposits sediments creating a shore or sediment bar there.
