Planetary Motion

Revolution is where the planet revolves around the Sun. The time it takes a planet to revolve around the Sun depends on the distance it is from the Sun. The greater the distance the longer the orbital period. Rotation is time it takes for a planet to spin once on its axis. Rotation time does not depend on planetary size, for example Jupiter is the largest planet in the solar system and yet has the shortest day and Venus about the size of the Earth and a 1,000 times smaller than Jupiter has the longest day in the solar system.
