Phases of the Moon

The Moon orbits the Earth every 27.2 days. Each orbit is mark with the passing of the light crossing the face of the Moon. Waxing phases of the Moon show a gain like across the surface of the Moon, while the waning phases of the Moon show lessen of the lighted surface. A new Moon is totally dark and cannot be seen from the surface of the Earth. A Full Moon is when the entire surface facing the moon is completely illuminated.
