Near Collision Theory
Return to Astronomy Index Page
The Near Collision Theory is where two stars approach each other(1.) The Bigger Star's gravity starts to pull on the surface of the Smaller Star(2.) As the stars come closer to each other the Big Star's gravity pulls the hydrogen off the surface of the Smaller Star(3.) A stream of plasma stretches between the two stars(4.) The Smaller Star and the Larger Star tug at the plasma stream trying to take it from each other. Finally the stars pass each other and the plasma stream breaks from the tension(5.) Each star keeps some of the plasma the Bigger Star receives more plasma than the Smaller Star and neither star can pull the hydrogen to their surface and a Planetary Nebula forms around each star creating planets through gravitation contraction(6.)
