Flood

A flood is where to much rain falls. Floods can occur over short periods of time. A flood occurs because the ground becomes saturated with water and can absorb no more. The excess water begins to run off and  fill rivers until their banks over flow. Often many rivers will combine to form super rivers and the low land become even more flooded. Floods can cost billions of dollars to clean up and can cause drinking water hazards. Floods also benefit the land in that they deposit new layers of silt making the land rich for agriculture.
