Concentration

Return to Chemistry Index Page

Concentration can be define as the amount of solute dissolved in a solution. Concentration can be

determined by many ways.

Percent of Mass= Mass of Solute (g)

                              Mass of Solution (g)

molality (m) = moles of solute (mol)

                          mass of solvent (kg)

molarity (M) = amount of solute (mol)

                          liters of solution (L)

Dilutions =   MiVi = MfVf

Volume Percent = V solute/V solution X 100

There are other ways to measure concentrations but I thought these would be the most common ways.
