Cirrus Clouds

Cirrus clouds below to a group of clouds called high clouds. High clouds range from 6,000 m to 18,000 m in altitude. High clouds produce no precipitation and are made up of ice crystals and dust. There are three families of high clouds, Cirrus, Cirrostratus and Cirrocumulus.

Cirrus "Ci" clouds are thin and wispy.

 

Cirrostratus "Cs" clouds are thin and wispy and cover the sky.

Cirrocumulus "Cc" clouds are thin and wispy and bumpy.
